Remove visitor visas for Czechs

To:  MINISTER OF CITIZENSHIP, IMMIGRATION AND MULTICULTURALISM, HON. JASON KENNY

We, the undersigned draw the attention of Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism to the following:

THAT in Czech Republic is a democratic country and member of European Union. Czech Republic is Canada’s strong ally and friend. Czech citizens travel freely, without visas, to all European Union countries and to many other allies of Canada including United States of America.

THAT the visa requirement is an unnecessary burden on both Canadians and their Czech families and friends wishing to visit Canada.

THAT the Canadian Embassy in Prague, Czech Republic does not issue visas, meaning that Czechs must obtain visas from the Canadian Embassy in Vienna, Austria and are burdened with additional costs and delays.

THAT the requirement for Czechs to obtain visas is a substantial hindrance to business and trade between Canada and Czech Republic.

THEREFORE your petitioners call upon you to remove the visa requirement for Czech citizens wishing to visit Canada.
