New "Day the Earth Stood Still" remake

To:  Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation

We, old and new followers of the classic Science Fiction movie “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” feel that the remake in production is horribly flawed, and strays away from the original meaning of trying to come to peaceful resolutions. The idea that sparked such in the mid-century was the nuclear crises from Russia and the United States, yet still can be true today with what is happening abroad and at home. The notion that an alien would travel light years to say we need to automatically sign up on correcting our pollution is as preposterous as remaking the Wizard of Oz to convey a message that religion is bad.

This movie was not a political tool, and should not ever be made such. We, the undersigned, are pledging that if this movie is made as is, we will not spend a dime to watch it at the theater, or buy it on any media you desire to print it on. We implore you to reconsider the route this movie is going, and either change it, or drop it in favor of more quality science fiction and fantasy. Thank you.
