Pavements in DRARA Should Not Be Used For Parking |
To: Oxfordshire County CouncilWe, the undersigned, urge the County Council to do everything in its power to avoid using pavements for car parking under the proposed CPZ for the Divinity Road Area.
• Pavement parking causes unacceptable problems for all pedestrians – especially elderly, very young, and disabled people.
• Pavement parking should be used as sparingly as possible if at all. Bays should only allow the width of one tyre on the kerb.
• Carriageway widths should be as narrow as possible so as to: 1) minimise or eliminate the need for parking bays to be
marked on pavements; 2) reduce the speed of through-traffic; and 3) accommodate as many residents’ cars as possible.Sincerely,
