Music Gallery for DeviantArt

Dear DeviantArt Administration,

We believe that it is time Deviantart supported the one art form that it does not yet.

We believe that it is time Deviantart supported a gallery for music.
We propose four separate main galleries at first, one for audio files, one for sheet music, one for Midi and one for “scorch.” If needed, the sound files could be played in a flash player. Midi files can be played by some browsers, and in java, or could be available for download.
The music sound gallery would be then divided into categories referring to the era the music is composed in the style of, e.g. medieval, renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic, 20th century and contemporary.
And inside each of those categories, where appropriate, would be the subcategories sacred and secular. Or for 20th century and contemporary the subcategories would be the genre, for instance, minimalist, expressionist, experimental etc.
This could be organised to any extent further.

In the sheet music gallery, the categories would be staff notation and TAB. Within those would be the subcategories defining the number of voices or instruments, e.g. solo, duet, trio, quartet, quintet etc… chamber orchestra and symphony orchestra.
Within these, where appropriate, would be the subcategories defining the pitch of the voice(s), e.g. (combinations of) soprano, alto, tenor, bass, contrabass, sub-contrabass.
Sheet music would be submitted as an image file such as .GIF.

The rules on art theft, arrangements or derivative work would be the same as with all other art forms; you must have explicit written permission from the composer to be allowed to perform, display, arrange or make derivative work from, depending on the permission given. If the original work is under creative commons licence or any other special licence then it is up to the person who wishes to perform, display, arrange or derive work from the piece to make sure the license does not change.

We understand that there may be a shortage of staff, and that may cause this to be unfeasible, but if enough of us sign the petition, you must promise to advertise for gallery staff, and we will advertise for staff as much as we can too, and when enough staff are employed, all of the above will be put into action.
