Petition to Regulate Daviess County Commerical Dog Breeding Facilities |
To: Daviess County CommissionersIndiana recently passed new legislation (H.E.A. 1468) that provides upgraded penalties for animal abuse, and basic care standards for dogs at large-scale production facilities known as puppy mills. The bill was sponsored by Rep. Linda Lawson, D-Hammond. While this bill will require state-based registration of Daviess County commercial dog brokers, we, the Daviess County Humane Society, would like to see the passage of stricter local ordinances that will place limits on the number of unaltered females allowed at each breeding location in Daviess County. Your signature means that you support the efforts of the Daviess County Humane Society and County Commissioners to impose more stringent regulations in our county than are currently imposed by the state law.
You must be a Daviess County resident, age 18 or older to sign this petition.Sincerely,
