President Obama, please give Mayor Dellums a job

Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums has said in a newspaper interview that he would not turn down a job with the Obama Administration, were he offered one. (Source: http://www.insidebayarea.com/oaklandtribune/localnews/ci_11402528)

We, the people of Oakland, ask that President Obama please offer Ron Dellums a job as soon as possible. If there are are any minor posts or clerical positions available, we also suggest giving those to Oakland City Council and Administration members. We don't want to keep them here in Oakland any more.

On Dellum's watch, not much good has happened in Oakland - the January 2009 riots being just the tip of the iceberg. In fairness, we are not sure any other Mayor would have done much better with the current Council. They are entrenched into opinions they acquired in the sixties, in bed with their special interests, at a deadlock, and unable to advance any positive agenda for the City of Oakland.

The Obama Administration has so much talent it can certainly absorb a few more average people, and meanwhile, Oakland can start looking for some competence, excellence and Change here in Oakland.
