Send Don Mattingly To the Hall of Fame

There has been a great injustice done to one of the greatest firstbasemen in Major League Baseball history. For the third year it looks like Donald Arthur Mattingly will not be inducted into the Hall of Fame. For over a decade, Don Mattingly lead one of the most prominent teams in Major League Baseball – The New York Yankees. While a back injury in the early 90s slowed his career down, Don Mattingly still managed to play through the pain for several more years eventually leading his team to the playoffs.

When compared to a recent Hall of Fame Inductee, Kirby Pickett, it is hard to believe that Don Mattingly was not welcomed in as a first ballot Hall of Famer. Don Mattingly has 2,153 hits to Puckett's 2,304, 442 doubles to Puckett's 414, 222 homers to Puckett's 207 and 1,099 RBIs to Puckett's 1,085.

These numbers also don’t include his lifetime fielding percentage of .996 which is also higher then that of Kirby Puckett who had a fielding percentage of .989.

How can Kirby Puckett be a first-ballot inductee while Don Mattingly is close to being dropped off the ballot altogether?

We ask for support to show the Hall of Fame that the fans desire should matter and the fans want Don Mattingly in the Hall of Fame.
