Harry Potter Series: Keep Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson.

The prospect of recasting the parts of the Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise has been raised and hinted at several times by various people involved with the production. Not only would that be absolutely devastating to the fans of the series, but disasterous to the franchise as well. We, the fans, have indentified these actors with the characters we have fallen in love with over the course of the films (we now have faces to put with the characters in the books), and imagining these beloved characters being played by other actors is preposterous; it's no differenat than imagining someone other than Sylvester Stallone playing Rocky, someone other than Harrison Ford playing Indiana Jones, etc. It simply would not work. Age should not be a factor at all here. First of all, probably 100 films could be named that were successful where the actors were twice the age of the characters they were playing. But not only that, the effect these films have would be gone, because it wouldn't seem like Harry Potter anymore. On behalf of 99.9% of the fans, I can personally guarentee that if these three were recast, it would be catastrophic to the series and many fans would be lost. The comparison between Harry Potter and James Bond doesn't work, because Harry Potter is a septology (a very complex and intricate story woven into seven parts) where as James Bond is ongoing and has no anticipated end. As of this date, Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire is being filmed with the same cast. There are only three more films to go, and having the main three characters recast for them or the last two or anything like that would be absolutely ludicrous. Of course, we all have to acknowledge that this is partially up to the actors as well, as far as whether they are willing to return for the remaining three. The bottom line here is this: we, the many fans of Harry Potter, ask you to please do everything in your power to convince Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson to stay on for the remaining three, and even more so, from the bottom of our hearts, to please not even consider recasting these characters. We trust you'll make the right decision
