The Petition against eBay's new seller and buyer conditions

The undersigned believes that you've gone too far, Simon. We've all hated PayPal from the start, and it's no safer than Bank Deposit - You just need to know how to read feedback and trust sellers.

It's not rocket science; Bank Deposit doesn't take out any fees, PayPal does - So why should we be FORCED to use the one that costs us money. eBay is the ultimate way to get a bargain, and for you to suddenly make us sellers jack up the price or make a loss on our listings, forget it - We won't support you.

We already spend millions of dollars on listing fees, so why do you need to drag an extra 10 million dollars a year from us on PayPal in Australia alone. Get your hands OUT OF OUR POCKETS. We care about safety, but it should be OUR choice whether or not we want to use PayPal.


The undersigned belives that the new changes that are listed below should be removed and eBay should stop using Australia as the Guniea pigs in their bid to gain more revenue.

The undersigned also agree that if we are not heard, we will stop using eBay entirely. Is it worth jacking up the costs to list an item if nobody in Australia uses eBay? No.

The new conditions that we do not agree to:
From 17 June you will only be able to offer PayPal on your listings and pay on pick up (i.e.paid for when picking up the item).

Pay on pick up can only be offered in conjunction with PayPal. No other payment methods will be permitted.

All items listed for sale on eBay.com.au must offer PayPal as one of the payment methods.

All items appearing on eBay.com.au must be paid for using either:
• PayPal
• Visa/Mastercard (with transactions processed
by PayPal)
• Pay on pick up (i.e. paid for when picking up the item)
No other payment methods will be accepted.
