eBay Policy Change Petition

This petition's purpose is to try and get eBay to change some of their policies. As it stands now anyone can sign up and bid on your auctions, not pay, and leave you negative feedback.

There are MANY, MANY, people out there who do this. eBay does nothing to prevent this. They will not remove negative feedback if you receive any as a result of this. Anyone can create a new email and sign up for a free eBay account. For example, if you have cable internet service from Optimum Online you can have 5 email boxes and you can create and delete them whenever you want. This is one way people make a new email address just to register with eBay and ruin someone's auction.

Some people place really high bids just to win. Some of these can be cancelled, but if you have a lot of auctions going on at the same time it is impossible to catch everyone in time. A lot of us have a life or job outside of eBay and cannot possibly sit there 24 hours a day to watch every auction. We should not have to!

Auction services like Yahoo! allow you to block bidders with 0 feedback if you want and only allow people with a certain amount of feedback to bid.

eBay needs to take action yesterday. I personally know atleast 8 to 10 people whom have been left negative feedback because someone did not pay for their auction. Some of these people have had flawless records on eBay (100% positive feedback) and now their good name is tarnished. Some of these people were selling personal items and really needed the money at the time, but now have to wait even longer because they must relist the item.

I will not complain about past transactions. What's in the past is in the past. I do however fear for the future unless eBay rises up and makes a positive change to stop wrong doings
