Please provide the necessary safe pedestrian crossing with traffic lights for the section of EDGEMOOR LN [between the parking garage and the entrance to the Bethesda Metro station (http://geocities.com/edgemoorlane/the_location.html)]

This area of Edgemoor Ln is the highest pedestrian traffic areas of Bethesda. On a daily basis around 800 pedestrians/commuters cross at this point without the safety of traffic lights, pedestrian crossing signs or pavement markings. For years those who have voiced their opinion/fears/concerns have been ignored, thus making it necessary for an NGO to take up the fight ( http://geocities.com/edgemoorlane ).

We strongly urge The Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPWT) - Montgomery County, Maryland to consider this long overdue request and the relevant responsible government bodies and public servants to implement the required traffic lights and pavements in this particular location of Edgemoor Ln to ensure the safety of the high volume pedestrians/commuters, thus creating a safe, pedestrian-friendly commuter area.

We strongly hope that the responsible officials will make the right decision and will act upon the needs and safety of the people who they represent.
