We, the Undersigned, are opposed to the unfair price increases instituted by Games Workshop Ltd in its product ranges. The price hikes are making it difficult for us to continue the miniature wargaming hobby, and hurting the community as a whole.
Many of us have been players of Games Workshop's game systems for years. In this time we have come to appreciate GW's welcoming environment, helpful and knowledgeable staff, and superior customer service.
However, price hikes are making it difficult for those who cling to the hobby. Already active gamers and collectors find that they cannot purchase miniatures like they used to. We have known gamers who have switched to other companies or ceased to play altogether. The gaming community has faithfully accepted with the price raises for a while now, but the increases keep coming. This has happened to gamers of all GW's systems- Mordheim, Warhammer Fantasy Battles, Warhammer 40,000, The Lord of the Rings, etc. The hobby as a whole is damaged by the new price policy.
Games Workshop has yet to produce any solid evidence to support the various reasons it provides for price increases when consumers ask its customer service.
Moreover, we are saddened by what appears to be underhanded price increases from a company we love. Case in point: the new The Lord of the Rings blister packs of two figures. As separate blisters, the figures cost 5 GBP each, making a total of 10 GBP for both. However, when placed together in a single blister, the price is 12 GBP- 2 more than it theoretically should be. It almost appears as if the company is deliberately trying to trick customers into paying more.
Hence, we, the Undersigned, wish to express our discontent with the price increases imposed by Games Workshop Ltd, and request that prices be returned to their previous levels in April 2005, or at least stopped from increasing further.
