Eikon To Go - Expresscard version |
To: Upek, Inc.Upek Inc. and Agile Web Solutions Inc. have just announced an integrated biometric password management solution combining Upek's renowned biometric sensor technology and Agile Web Solutions' unparalleled 1Password technology. (http://www.upek.com/news/press/2009/01.05.09.asp)
We the undersigned are petitioning Upek to consider creating an ExpressCard version of their Eikon To Go solution that will allow near-transparent integration of biometric technology with Apple's MacBook Pro line of laptops.
An ideal implementation would have the Eikon fingerprint reader sitting flush in the MacBook Pro's underutilized Expresscard slot when not needed. When biometric authentication is required, the user can depress a spring-loaded nub which exposes the fingerprint scanner. After successful authentication, the user can then press the scanner back into the Expresscard slot.
As borne by the latest Apple sales numbers, MacBooks now account for 70 percent of Macintosh sales and its only logical for Upek to create an optimum biometric solution for the premium MBP line.
The ExpressCard version need not be limited to MacBook Pros, ExpressCard readers are now also prevalent in other premium laptops using Windows and can also be sold in that market.
We implore Upek, Inc. to create Eikon To Go/Expresscard.
Sincerely,
