No to 6 nights of Emmerdale

To:  Granadamedia and YTV

It has been brought to our attention, through the media, that it is intended to show Emmerdale six nights a week. With respect, we feel this is an overkill.

The general concensus of opinion among longstanding fans is that the showing of Emmerdale five nights a week has ALREADY had a detrimental effect on the quality of storylines within the soap, and we fear the situation can only get worse. It is not reasonable to expect the cast, crew, and script writers to produce high quality episodes if the program is to be screened as often as is planned.

We, the undersigned feel that a long-running soap, such as Emmerdale, deserves quality, not quantity.
