Against Invasive Streaming Ads Brought to you by Eyewonder, Inc. |
To: Eyewonder, Inc. and Its ClientsThis petition is against Eyewonder, Inc. for their intrusive method of advertising, and in purpose, to convince their clients to cease all advertising with them to relieve viewers from the various problems that these Java video ads cause.
As a brief description of the advertising method in question, these ads are in a Java format (which is no longer compliant with many Windows XP machines) often crash computers due to the faulty code, and freeze computers due to their rigorous machine use when executing the Java program. Once the ad is loaded, the viewer is then assaulted with screeching off key sound and streaming video, which is a high use of computer resources, and can freeze the machine if the viewer is performing other tasks. The ad often “loops” or displays indefinitely, and there is no way to turn it off, as the control buttons that are only available on select ads often do not work.
We, the viewers, feel this is an intrusive ad because of the violation of sound and high usage of system resources. We encourage advertisers to use other methods, such as flash or WildForm Flix if they are insistent on creating video advertising, as to at least relieve viewers of the problems that are created by Java. We plan to boycott any products or services that are advertised in this way.
Sincerely,
