To David Canton and the Florida Family Association

Dear David, Association Members of Florida and Members of the American Family Association



We the undersigned are demanding your resignation and the dismemberment of your entire organization. We believe you have made too many malicious and harmful attacks on what you deem an unacceptable life. You have taken the liberties you are entitled to as an American citizen and used them to offend and wound too many fellow Americans and too many family members.

For too long now, we have stood by silently while you have marginalized and degraded everyone who does not fit your preconceived notion of who should compromise the All-American Family. Perhaps it is time to beg of you the question who died to leave you in charge of membership in an American Family? Surely while you were reading your Christian bible to find just enough passages to use to thump people over the head with, you must have seen the passages that instruct you to not only judge, but that God is the leavening rod, not you.

Still, you continue to denigrate the expanding reaches of the American Family. The status quo has change. The days of the Cleaver and Griffith families are over. Why exactly is it wrong for African Americans to have mixed member families? And same sex families? You dont spare them anything. You have criticized every aspect and even called people who live with transgender issues names.

These things you have said to them, you have said to us OUR family members OUR family. You have done this to our brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, our own parents the very people who gave us life. And until yesterday we were silent. Today marks a change. Today we take a stand and fight for our American Family as you once fought for what was the American Family. Today we say ENOUGH! We had had ENOUGH! You only fight to keep out people who are different, but the status quo has changed. Today we call for an end to you unrighteous injustice and intolerance. It is time for your organization to take down its members and resign before you cause any more peripheral damage to the American family.

Today we call for EQUALITY for all American Families!
