No MTA Fare Hikes

To:  Metropolitan Transportation Authority

We join Congressman Vito Fossella in opposing the MTA's proposed
increase in bus and subway fares and bridge tolls. The MTA should not
force commuters to pay more money for what many of us would consider
inferior service compared with the rest of New York City. At a time
when the City is encouraging New Yorkers to use mass transit, the MTA
should not force Brooklyn commuters to pay increasing amounts of money
for their daily commute. Also, the MTA should not penalize Brooklyn
motorists by charging them $10 to cross the Verrazano Bridge.
