RE: Floyd England
#11852-064
Dear President Obama,
We the undersigned respectfully request the commutation of sentencing for Floyd Alvin England, Register Number 11852-064. We do not condone illegal activity, but based on his record of conduct, and educational opportunities achieved, as partially shown below. We feel that he has more than paid his debt to society, and that his rehabilitation has been successful.
During his many years of incarceration, Floyd has maintained a spotless incident record, and has taken every opportunity offered to him to expand his knowledge. Some of his accomplishments are listed, but not limited to the following:
Associates Degree in Applied Science (Summa Cum Ladue, Major in Business Administration Technology).
2 Toastmasters International Positive Speaker Certificates (leadership and public speaking skills).
Has learned to speak, read, and write the Spanish Language.
Volunteered through the Literacy Program to teach others to read.
Over 15 years in Federal Prison Industries Program.
Over 8000 hours on the job training to a Drafting Apprenticeship Program.
Almost two decades of good conduct.
In addition to Floyd's scholastic accomplishmients,he has endured an even more difficult endeavour :The mental hardship of reality that his crimes not only affected him, but also the lives of others in his community. Not to mention the fact that he has spent the better part of two decades behind bars repaying his debt to society. All the while realizing that he could of made these same positive steps being an active and positive member of his community. We believe that the time has come for Floyd to re-enter society, to share all his accomplishments with others, to begin a new life as a productive, law abiding citizen.
We earnestly plead that mercy will be shown and his request for commutation under the United States Constitution, Article II, Section 2: be approved.
Thank you in advance for your consideration in this very important matter.
