MySpace "Certified Safe Widget Developer" program |
To: MySpaceWe the undersigned, as users and developers of MySpace, request action on the recent security fixes at MySpace that have made it impossible to link to external websites from Flash widgets and controls.
We completely support MySpace's need and desire to protect its members from malicious attack but we feel that a distinction needs to be made between legitimate, honest software developers and sources of potentially harmful code.
We propose a "Certified Safe Widget Developer" program, which allows widget makers to establish their trust-worthiness and therefore qualify for access to external linking and networking features within their MySpace widgets.Sincerely,
