www.thefibber.com, along with the undersigned, would like to humbly ask, that you renew Don Cherry’s contract for one more year. Yes, we know that he can be quite obnoxious and xenophobic, and, yes, he collects porcelain statues and does a pretty good gay imitation ( if you know what we mean ) but at least he is not as bland as Peter Mansbridge, as shrill as Wendy Mesley (OK , maybe he is), or as narcissistic as Ken Finkelman ( come to think of it, maybe he is). Anyway, just hire the old boy back: at his age, he might not live to see the end of his contact in any case. He could even fill in for David Suzuki, whose earnestness and holier than though attitude would drive even the most good natured (and endangered) Spotted Owl to hurl herself over the nearest cliff.

To Don Cherry
In order to extend a maple branch to management and to show everyone in Canada that you are indeed a good sport, could you please do one Coach’s Corner completely in French, while wearing a Russian mouton Ushanka (fancy word for fur hats) and playing Abba instead of the usual theme song. Oh, and try swearing on camera so we can see if that 7 second delay thing works.
