Flood protection and Household Insurance
This petition is to request the insurance companies, loss adjusters and Parliament to adopt a scheme that rewards householders who protect their own property by the installation or flood defence products, in the form of reduced home insurance premiums or excesses. The scheme would be similar to the discounts in premiums you get if you install a burglar alarm.
A scheme of flood 'MOT's' should also be adopted which certifies that you have taken all possible actions to prevent your house from flooding.
