Allow Fireworks In Fontana, CA

We the undersigned of this one document all agree and share the same voice.

After 41 years, Fontana wants to take away our Fireworks!
Fireworks have been a money maker for nonprofit groups for years and now the city wants to take that away from them.

We want to make it where the residents of Fontana can enjoy Independence Day and don't have to worry about getting a fine for discharging fireworks. We want to make it where neighbors can all get together, have fun and put on a firework show for one night!

Here are some of the stats for the last three years. For each year beginning in 2005, It would appear that the number of citations and calls has actually decreased. Also of note, the #1 OVERWHELMING problem is with ILLEGAL fireworks, not the safe and sane the Council decided to ban.

2005:
92 citations issued for illegal fireworks
3 citations issued for using fireworks in the street

2006:
88 citations for illegal fireworks
1 citation for using fireworks in the street

2007: (This is the only thing disclosed by the city of Fontana)
44 extra officers were out, they wrote 35 illegal fireworks citations which the fine is $1000. We had a total of 103 vs. 131 in 2006 Calls for service for fireworks.

So who is this really hurting? The nonprofit groups and US Americans.
If we let them take fireworks out of the 4th of July whats next? Ban smoking? Ban driving? Lets put a STOP to this now. If You want fireworks in Fontana Sign This Petition and pass it around!
