This is a petition to LucasArts, developer and distributor of the recently released Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game to release an online patch for both PS3/360 versions of the games.

Many devote Star Wars fans eagerly awaited this game and while the game itself is in keeping with the great mythos of Star Wars, it is also full of many technical and game breaking issues. Below is a list of many commom technical issues in both versions of the game:

1. Despite the 2.6gb hard drive install on the PS3 version, the load times between levels are fairly long. The load times do seem faster than the 360 version but still leave more to be desired with a machine with a built in hard drive. Also, for some strange reason the menu system has long load times between switching. This is also a problem on the 360 version, but with a 2.6gb hard drive install, you would think that problem would be non existant. Perhaps a bigger hard drive install is needed, or maybe it is simply bug related. Also, and the developers may want to check for sure about this, but I don't see the hard drive indicator on my PS3 being used much during Force Unleashed unlike other games that use the hard drive. Is it possible that despite the hard drive install, the game is not using all of the files it has installed on the hard drive?

2. Cutscenes audio for some reason can become low in volume.

3. When you are on Felucia the first time, the sequence with the several Rancors you must kill in the big area suffers from several slowdowns on occasion. The first level also has slowdowns on the long bridge.

4. The game does have several glitches within the gameplay. Collison could have had more tweaking. Interaction with the environment leaves much more to be desired, especially on Felucia and Raxus Prime.

5. The graphics seem to have quite a bit of "fade-in" issues, where detail quickly pops in. This is most noticeable on the first level as Darth Vader. For example, as you move from the starting position, all of a sudden the Imperial Walker on the left side of the screen in the distance just appears as you move forward.

6. The "Default Text" glitch is a problem on both platforms, whereby your save game can become corrupt and force points do not count.

7. To make things simpler, the Mission Select should be available at the main screen of the game and not just in the in-game menu. The first level with Darth Vader is also absent from the mission select.

8. If you have beaten the the game, the various cheats available for the game should not lock you from saving your game. And costumes you unlock with cheats should not be reset when you shut down and play the game again.

More technical issues and gameplay issues can be found within these two threads at the LucasArts message board:

Many people spent their hard earned money on this game and for LucasArts to not make any comments or plans to a release a patch, but to expect the same people to pay for additional downloadable content is a slap in the face to the fans. We ask the priority be switched to fix the current game before expecting fans to pay for more content.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
