Protect Free Speech In Colorado

To:  Colorado governor

We continue our support and efforts to remove the slave-trading, murdered Columbus as a national hero and continue to promote freedom for Indigenous Red Nations and Peoples.
We reject and denounce Governor Bill Owens' statements condemning Mr. Ward Churchill, a tenured professor at the University of Colorado for free speech Mr. Churchill offered with regard to the terrible foreign policies of the United States. Owens now takes his place along side another racist governor, John Evans, one of the main instigators of the tragic “Sand Creek Massacre” of 1864, where hundreds of innocent Indigenous women and children – under a white flag of truce, were slaughtered by a marauding group of army soldiers under a Methodist minister!
By using such “McCarthyistic” tactics against free speech, we demand Owens resignation and an apology. We also call on the Board of Regents for the University of Colorado to respect their own rules on academic freedom, comply with all laws protecting freedom of speech, and to affirm Mr. Churchill's right to speak openly as a scholar and as a human being.
