Freedom for Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury

To:  Government of Bangladesh

We, the undersigned, respectfully call on the government of Bangladesh to cease its prosecution of Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury. Mr. Choudhury has not attempted to overthrow the government of Bangladesh; he has not provided aid or comfort to any state with which Bangladesh is at war; he has not rejected his Muslim faith. Yet the state has threatened him with death, merely for calling for friendly diplomatic relations with all countries and for attempting to travel to countries of his choosing.

Mr. Choudhury represents no danger to the government, the nation, or the religions of Bangladesh. Indeed, his courage and humanity excite the admiration of people around the world. Please let this peaceable and tolerant man live freely and without fear. Thank you.
