USC School of Cinematic Arts Intellectual Property |
To: USC's School of Cinematic ArtsWe the undersigned students, alumni, faculty, and staff of the USC School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) firmly oppose SCA's overbearing Intellectual Property Policy.
SCA is one of the premier film institutions in the world, and we expect it to foster a creative environment that allows us every avenue of critique and exposure. In the past, a more intrusive Intellectual Property policy may have been necessary, but with the advent of new technologies and new means of distribution, these policies aren't necessary.
We encourage the USC SCA to consider the benefits arising from wide variety of commercial and artistic options available thanks to the Internet.
We urge the USC SCA to evolve technologically and ideologically, matching or exceeding the policies of like organizations across the country and around the world.Sincerely,
