Save America's Secret Army |
To: U.S. CongressGreetings/ Nyob zoo (Nyah-zhong),
We are students at Roseville Area High School: May Her and Ida Lee. We have been touched and very concerned about the conditions of the U.S. Secret War Veterans and their families who were left behind and are trapped in the jungle of Laos facing execution at the hand of the Communist Lao People Democratic Republic’s Government. For what reason? Simply for their loyalty services to the United States Government during the Vietnam War.
Here is a brief overview of the past: In the spread of Communism in Southeast Asia, Vietnam was ready to take control over Laos, reforming Laos into a Communist state. In the interest of the free world, America stepped in to prevent the spread of Communism along with the help of their Allies, the “Hmong.” Because of the Hmong’s great efforts and reputation with the French during the Indochina War, they were ask to help the American to fight in the Vietnam War. They were promise for a better life and the development of the homeland, Laos, if they succeeded the war. If not, they were promise to be given a safe place to live with their American ally in America. Unfortunately, America lost the Vietnam War and withdrew from Southeast Asia in 1975, abandoning their Hmong soldiers and the promises made to them. 28 years has past, and the Hmong people in Laos are suffering and being executed for a war they were not responsible for. The Communist attempted to “eliminate to the root” of the U.S. Secret Veterans and their families. Many of these Hmong soldiers were unable to escape Laos and are trapped and hiding in the deep, isolated jungles of Laos, fighting for their lives; waiting and hoping their American friends will return to rescue them.
You can HELP us bring this situation to the attention of legislatures and senators by signing this petition. One more voice can really make a difference. Thank You!
Sincerely,
