No National Guard Troops to Iraq

The NJ State legislature has introduced SJR55 and AJR89 to defederalize the NJ National Guard. Please contact your state senator and assemblyperson for cosponsorship and support. VT, PA, and RI also have bills and a national coalition has formed, called "Bring the Guard Home (It's the Law)." Including hard copies, the petition currently has more than 4000 signatures. Don’t Send 3,000 NJ National Guard Troops to Iraq in June.
Repeal Sec 333 DoD Appropriation -- 2006.

Governor Corzine, please do not sacrifice one more young man or woman to the War in Iraq. This war has been mismanaged from the beginning and continues to spin out of control. Do not send one-half of the NJ National Guard to Iraq in June, (3,000 of 6,000 people). Do not acquiesce to a lame-duck administration that has consistently operated in secret, persisted in illegal war, spawned the destabilization of Iraq and promoted illegal incarcerations and torture, endangering our troops.

The Bush administration has flagrantly ignored the will of the American People to end this war. Rather than deploy NJ National Guard in June, join at least eight other states to de-federalize the National Guard, and work to establish immediate international negotiations to end hostilities.

Governor Corzine, stand up to George W. Bush for the people of New Jersey. Don't sacrifice even one more of our neighbors to this illegal war that continues to bleed our budgets, our people and to ruin life for Iraqi children and civilians.

Adults everywhere need to take action to end this war. Governor, take the lead and resist the June deployment. The people of New Jersey will support you and our troops will be grateful to you for protecting their best interests (See reverse side for details).

Also, please work for the immediate repeal of Sec. 333 of the Dept of Defense Appropriate of 2006 that allows the President to seize control of the National Guard during any state-specific emergency.
