The principal objective of the Citizens Committee to Save Gutter Baghicha Park is to organize public support to preserve Gutter Baghicha Park land as a public open space; to develop this environmental oasis for the creational enjoyment of all the people of the Trans Lyari.

The greatest danger to the park survival is combined public indifference and special interest pressures to take park land for non-park purposes i.e. a housing society, industrial activity etc false court cases are prolonging the misery of the area citizens who desperately want an end to this wait.

All of the Citizens Committees volunteer energies are aimed at arousing public and official awareness of the value of saving the last of these open spaces set aside a century ago. This remaining fraction of the original park of Karachi represents its environmental and historical treasure.
