From October to December 2004, GCFanFics.com was linked with Fanfiction Log forum, located here. During this time, the moderators came in contact with a mentioned "Lynn Myers". This petition is proposed to counteract this petition that asks to dissolve the banning of this member from our website.
In January 2005, the moderators of GCFanFics (Christine and Tracy) decided to open a forum located on our site. This decision had nothing to do with the previous and current members of the Fanfiction Log forum. We wanted to have more control over who joined and posted in our forum. We, at the time, had no intentions of forming a prejudice against any member, specifically Lynn. On January 17, 2005, Lynn posted a message that we felt to be an attack on us and the members of the forum. Due to problems in the past that we have had with this member, we felt it was just to ban this member from causing anymore problems in the GCFanFics community.
To learn what led up to this decision, we will give you a brief and incomplete overview of the period between October and January.
There have been incidents in the past where we have felt that Lynn was using personal attacks as an attention device. We feel that as a first rule in website ownership, if a user gives the maintainers problems, then the maintainers have a right to make sure that the user is put in place. Overall the question of the matter is easily simplified: This is our site, and we have the right to ban anyone that we feel will cause problems.
Lynn has stated in numerous locations that she feels that we banned her unfairly. However, to quote a message that was posted by Lynn, Tracy and Christine are referred to as "immature bitches".
Also, a reasoning for this ban is the questioning of our site rules. Lynn proceeded to argue with us and our members over what was right and what was wrong. The rules that were created for the site were questioned and polled by several valid members of the site. Not one of these members had a problem. Only when the statement arose that Lynn does not pay the bills for the site and has no right to say what can be established, did she back down.
Lynn has constantly picked fights with the members and moderators of GCFanFics, sometimes on more than one occasion. When on the Fanfiction Log forum, she blatantly undermined our authority and then later attempted to shift the blame on us. To this day, Lynn continues to fail to see past her ignorance in order to point fingers at the people who would do what any person would do in a situation such as this. Her naivety and constant harassment of the moderators of the site and members is seen as a burden and we feel should not be tolerated.

As mentioned, this petition is designed to counteract a petition created by Lynn against us. Here is our rebuttal.
This was not because I broke any rules, but because the administrators didn't like me. Simple as.
This statement is false. Lynn did, in fact, break GCFanFics rules. Rule #1 on our site states:
Christine and Tracy together run and maintain this site. Therefore, if we contact you regarding a problem with your fiction, account, reviews, etc. respect our decisions. What we say goes, and we expect you to treat us the same way you would like to be treated. Arguing with an Admin will result in deletion of your account and permanent blockage from visiting this site.
"Now, I can cope with the fact that I can no longer talk to my online 'Good Charlotte' friends..."
May we, at this point, confirm that there are hundreds of Good Charlotte forums/fan sites around the internet that Im sure would welcome new members. Lynn has made accusations in the past that other forum owners have banned her because of us banning her. We have no knowledge of any forum owners that use the GCFanFics forum, and we have not spoken about Lynn to anyone who does not know the situation already. If any banning has occurred, it is not because of us but the owners of the sites. If Lynn has a problem with this, she needs to contact those owners and not point the blame on us.
"I feel it is unfair to stop me from posting my literature on the site, especially considering all other similar sites are nowhere near as well moderated or very popular amongst over 14's and a lot of hard work has gone into every story."
Lynn has complained in the past of our moderated site. We feel the statement if you dont like the site, dont visit it applies very much in this situation.
"It would be nice to be allowed back onto the adjoining message board, but it is understood if not granted."
We feel that this is a false promise, as Lynn has posted around the internet of us not allowing her on the forum.
"Everyone who has signed this petition agrees that I should be allowed to at least be unblocked from the site and allowed to join/post my stories."
May it be noted that most of the people who have signed this petition are part of the Fanfiction Log community and have no relevance/interest in Good Charlotte.
In conclusion, Christine and Tracy feel that they should be allowed to keep the banned status on Lynn Myers, as it is a common sense right of a webmaster who owns a site, for public use or not. We also further dismiss any threat of contact to our web server, as no one has a legitimate/rightful claim to do so since the server is fully paid for and owned by Christine.
On this last note, Christine and Tracy apologize for the waste of petition on a subject that was started out of spite and immaturity on the part of Lynn Myers. If you feel that Christine and Tracy should keep the right to ban Lynn for the protection of the GCFanFics community, please sign. Thank you for your time.
