having served the full length of his career demonstrating a loyalty to his club that has become a rare sight in this glorious sport,

having served as captain for club and country,

having provided football fans young and old the world over countless moments of inspiration and joy,

having demonstrated the highest sportsmanship,

having been an integral part of his club's dominance in the English Premiership and now twice-champion of Europe,

now be considered for Knighthood in honor of his actions in service and as a positive role model.
