Stop GITMO North

To:  Michigan Lawmakers and Governor, Michigan Members of U.S. House and Senate, White House

We, the citizens of Michigan, oppose the transfer of Guantanamo Bay (GITMO) detainees to our state due to unacceptable security, economic and legal risks.

We appeal to our elected leaders to represent our concerns, which are no different from those of the overwhelming majority of Americans who don’t want the Gitmo detainees relocated to their home states. Moreover, we urge our elected leaders to show the same bipartisan resolve to block this in Michigan as did elected leaders in Kansas to block the transfer of Gitmo detainees to Fort Leavenworth.
