Gmail Privacy By Default

To:  Google

The Gmail web-based email client run by Google by default sends the user to an unsecured http:// protocol server, when an https:// SSL-encrypted server also exists.

The http:// transfer method sends data in an unsecured, unencrypted format that can easily be snooped, thus compromising your privacy.

The https:// protocol sends data through a 256-bit encrypted format that is virtually impossible to crack. If Google redirected users to the https:// site by default, then your privacy from external sources would be almost impossible to break down.

This is especially needed for security in WiFi hotspots (which is where Gmail is likely to be used), where security can easily be compromised.

We want Google to redirect people to the https site at https://mail.google.com/mail/ by default to protect its users’ deserved privacy and security.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
