Whether you are a Republic or Democrat you should be interested in hearing a former Vice-President of the United & Nobel Peace Prize Winner speak. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it is an opportunity that is being take away from ETSU Students who paid for him to come.

Many ETSU Students along with myself are outraged because tickets to the Al Gore lecture at ETSU are sold out. They were gone within hours of being available to students today. Sources said that Gore refused to use the mini-dome as a venue because he required a stage and viewing screen for his lecture. As an SGA Senator for four semesters, I know for a fact that the Student Government Association has plenty of funds to rent a stage and viewing screen for the lecture. I want to know why the biggest speaker to come to ETSU in decades is not being offered to the entire student body. It is an outrage. Not to mention... tickets sold to non-ETSU students could be a huge source of revenue for our struggling university. This is not fair.... ETSU student’s money is paying for him to come but it is available to less than one percent of the student body. Hearing Gore speak would be a wonderful opportunity for so many people and we are missing out because they refuse to change venues.I feel with enough attention Gore and ETSU Administration may change their minds.
