We, the undersigned, are petitioning Hockey Night in Canada for the removal of Bob Cole and Harry Neale as the play-by-play and colour commentators for the Ottawa Senators’ 2006 play-off run. During broadcasts the pair frequently identify players incorrectly or refer to players from either team generically (e.g: "the Ottawa player"). Their years of Toronto Maple Leafs' coverage has also led to biased commentary and a lack of excitement over genuinely good play. The intense rivalry of the Leafs and the Senators over the years has created a natural animosity towards these announcers, and Sens fans (and Canadian hockey fans) deserve better. As viewers of a national hockey league broadcast we expect professional announcers who can accurately identify players and describe the on ice action.
