There is an ever increasing problem of destructive graffiti tagging in our local neighbourhoods. Graffiti tagging is not to be confused with Graffiti Art and one gives the other a bad name. Graffiti Art when done properly can enhance the community and gives people a chance to express themselves in a safe and legal way. There are very few legal graffiti walls left in Brisbane and we are hoping to work with the community and provide places that people can safely use to showcase some art, and in the process decrease the senseless vandalism. For kids who have no other interest in life other than art, graffiti can be a great outlet when done constructively and can lead to a great career.

We have been working with the local councils and brainstorming ideas, and although the council does not agree as yet, we personally think that a purpose built wall at the Springfield Lakes Skate Park, is a good solution. At present there are numerous artworks already in Springfield and the surrounding communities that have been done by a local graffiti artist, and they are a benefit to the community.

We are hoping that you can show your support, by signing this petition to get the wall built at the Skate Park and to show your support in getting other walls legalised within the community. The council has expressed interest in the idea, but we need the community support for things to happen.
