For the world
More Info at:
On June 25, 2006, 19 year old Gilad Shalit was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists while defending an Israeli army base from a premeditated attack. Gilads current whereabouts and physical well-being are unknown; Hamas has denied the Red Cross and other international humanitarian groups any access to him. Since then he has languished in captivity.
Over a two year has passed and Gilad Shalit is still captivated.
Our tradition obeys us not to abandon soldiers in the field.
As written in the Old Testament: "Ve'shavu banim le'gvulam" "And thy sons shall return to their borders".
All diplomatic efforts to free him have so far failed. Gilad, we await your return.
Sign a petition that calls to bring Gilad back. Bring him safe and sound!!
We dont have much time!
Pass this through to anyone you know. We need your support in the world effort to negotiate for Gilad's. And help us free Gilad Shalit.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE CAUSE!

Gilad Shalit (גלעד שליט) is an Israeli soldier who was captured in a cross border raid on the crossing Kerem Shalom from the Gaza Strip by Palestinian militants on 25 June 2006 and has been held hostage by Hamas since.
Gilad began his military service about 3 years ago at the end of July 2005. He preferred to serve in a combat unit despite the fact that he could have avoided combat duty due to a low medical profile. He followed his elder brother Yoel into the armored forces. Yoel had finished his service a year earlier. Gilad was highly motivated. He overcame all the obstacles facing a combat recruit of the armored forces and successfully ended his training a few months ago. For the last couple of months he has been on duty guarding and ensuring the security of the settlements around Gaza.
On Sunday, 06/25/2006, at 05:40 in the morning, a terrorist group of several Palestinians crossed the border south of the Gaza Strip into Israel through a tunnel near Kerem Shalom and attacked an army facility that was within the sovereign territory of Israel.
Gilads abductors were members of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades (the military wing of Palestinian governing party Hamas), the Popular Resistance Committees (which includes members of Fatah, Islamic Jihad and Hamas), and the Army of Islam.
