URGENT ACTION IN SUPPORT OF MR.HABIBOLLAH LATIFI IN IRAN

The International Committee against the Kurds Execution is writing to express its strong concern over the recent situation of Mr. Habibollah Latifi Iranian Kurdish who transfer to solitary confinement last week raises fears that his execution could be imminent. Mr. Habibollah Latifi was sentenced to death in July 2008 after he was convicted of moharebeh (enmity against God) in connection with his membership of and activities on behalf of the Kurdish Independent Life Party (PJAK).
We urge the Iranian government to:
1. Review the case of Mr. Habibollah Latifi and to give further clarification about the charges against him,
2. Commute Habibollahs death sentence,
3. Desist from the use of torture;
4. Allow Habibollah to have unimpeded contact with his family and his lawyer;
