Hank for the Hall |
To: CMA board of AdvisorsHank Williams, Jr has been in the music industry since the time he was born in 1949. He started performing at the age of 8, which means 2007 will mark 50 years and we feel that he is long overdue for induction into the Hall of Fame. It is time that he recognized by the Music Industry for what we, the fans, have known all the time. Hank is a musical ICON. He is known the world over, he brought people to listen to country music that would not have otherwise. He had 9 albums on the billboard charts at the same time, a feat that has never been done by any other living artist. He is the 2 time winner of the CMA Entertainer of the Year and the the winner of the first ever Video of the Year. Even after 50 years, he still manages to sell out concerts and have top 10 albums. He has been on stage with everyone from George Jones to Kid Rock to Johnny Cash to Bret Michaels. this should show the musical respect he has earned from his fellow artist. An artist should not have to be in the downside of his career to be awarded for the things he has accomplished.
Sincerely,
