Hershey has announced that the chocolate factory in Smiths Falls, Ontario will be closed. Its slated to pretty much close down for the Year 2008. This will mean a loss of aprox 500 jobs in Smiths Falls, a town which only has a population of 9000. Hershey has become part of nearly every event in the town since it opened in 1963. This will affect tourism, hockey tournaments, festivals and many more things.

We ask that you reconsider this action and leave the Smiths Falls plant open.
