On Monday, January 19, GRock Radio, Jersey's Rock Alternative 106.3 and 106.5 FM in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, changed its format to CHR station "Hit 106" after 24 years of alternative rock programming.

Immediately following the unannounced switch by station owner Press Communications LLC, Middletown resident Elyse Jankowski created the Facebook group "Bring Back GRock!" for listeners to sound off. Over 8,000 members joined within the first week of the group's existence, and the membership is steadily increasing.

Disappointed GRock fans have been flooding the group's discussion board with complaints. As a result, a protest took place on Saturday, January 24 at 12 noon outside the Press Communications offices in Neptune. In addition, a Bring Back GRock Benefit Concert is being organized by Stars and Scars LLC on Friday, February 6 in Keansburg.

GRock listeners are now pledging to boycott the products of every advertiser on HIT 106. By advertising on the station, you are risking your customer support. We suggest that you pull your advertisements from HIT 106 immediately.
