Save the Hockey Night in Canada Theme!

It has been reported that the Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC) will not be entering a new licensing agreement for the use of the Hockey Night in Canada theme song. CBC's licensing agreement expired at then end of this year’s (2008) Stanley Cup finals.

The Hockey Night in Canada theme was written in 1968 by Dolores Claman and has been heard and recognized by generations of Canadians since then. It is arguably the most recognized musical melody in Canada (second only to our “official” national anthem). I ask you the readers to sign this petition to convince CBC they are making a big mistake and to keep the Hockey Night in Canada theme alive!
