To:  Canadian Broadcasting Corporation

A Toronto company that administers the copyright to the Hockey Night in Canada theme song says the CBC has rejected a new licence of the song, raising questions about the future of a tune many Canadians consider a second national anthem.

The CBC "has advised the composer, owner and administrator of the musical composition that it is not prepared to enter into a new license agreement with respect to the use of the theme," a press release states.

If you are a Canadian, you owe it to yourself to sign the petition below. If you are a hockey fan, you owe it to yourself to sign the petition below. The CBC needs to completely understand how much this song means to hockey fans and Canadians!

One of the longest-running theme songs in broadcasting history, Canadians and hockey fans alike have grown up starting each and every Saturday night with this great anthem. The CBC is proposing that this great tradition comes to an end.

Please show your support - this is a crime. Hockey will never be the same without this song!

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
