This is a petition to all fans of Harry Potter who would like to see it made into a MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game).

According to an anonymous source, Electronic Arts (EA), who has the rights to the Harry Potter video games, had originally had plans to create this and then discarded them. I believe that this was a mistake. Millions of Harry Potter fans would love the opportunity to wander the corridors of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, ride the Hogwarts Express, purchase items in Diagon Alley, and move out into the wizarding world as a wizard who has come of age. J.K. Rowling created a world in her outstanding book series that is so large and imaginative, that it would be a sure-fire hit to the gaming world. We, the Undersigned, are asking you to make this happen.

Players could begin creating their unique character with a unique first and last name (no screen names, preferably). They create their unique appearance (almost like you would on EA's "The Sims" or "The Sims 2") with their history and other character information. Will they be a Muggle-born? A Pure-blood? A Half-Blood? They decide. Then when they're finished, they choose one of the three schools mentioned in the series to attend for their magical education: Hogwarts, Beauxbatons or Durmstrang. They receive their school supplies list and head out to Diagon Alley to purchase them. When they feel that their finished, they take the train to their desired school where they are sorted using a test that will place them in their correct house. The next day, they begin their education with their choice of either attending classes or fulfilling quests. The schools should be just like they are in the books - school rules (not being out of bed after a certain time, etc.), eating (regaining energy) in the Great Hall, trying out for their house Quidditch Team, attending class and completing homework assignments to gain experience (unless they choose to fulfill quests instead), sleeping in the dormitories, Hogsmeade weekends, hanging out in the common room with their friends or sitting by the lake. The list goes on and on.

After they have finished their seven years of education, they can choose their career path for the Wizarding World and pursue their fantasy of living in Harry's world. They can work for the Ministry, fulfilling quests and gaining knowledge and experience. They can work for the Order of the Phoenix and fight the Death Eaters. Or, they can spread evil by working for Lord Voldemort himself.

Time in the game should not go by too quickly. The game should be able to tell you that you've gained enough credits to advance to the next year of education and then let you advance at your leisure. The Castle should be large enough so that it takes quite some time before you've seen every single room, corridor, or secret passageway. If attending class, you should be in there with the other people around the world who are playing the game, not students who are NPC's (Non-Playable Characters).

We think that this game would be a smash hit. Millions and millions of people around the world would buy this game, especially us, the Undersigned.

We hope that you consider our pledge and make our fantasies come to life.
