Communities United for Hubert Vo and the undersigned appeal to the Select Committee on Contested Elections of Texas House of Representatives to uphold the election of Rep. Hubert Vo and to support the seating of Mr. Vo in the Texas State House of Representatives, representing District 149. Hubert Vo, a first generation Asian American immigrant, represents the hopes and dreams of many of the immigrants and minorities he will represent in District 149. Mr. Vo won the election for state representative through hard work and personal accomplishments. His election has been certified by the Texas Secretary of State.

Since the election, Rep. Vos opponent, Mr. Talmadge Heflin, has refused to accept the results of the election. He has requested recounts which have confirmed Mr. Vos victory. Now Mr. Heflin has contested the election to the Texas House of Representatives.

Committee members must recognize the changes in the demographics and concerns of District 149 that have resulted in the change in representation. Members of the Select Committee on Contested Elections must abide by the wishes of the voters in District 149 and reject Mr. Heflins contest. Any other action would undermine America's democracy and be a blemish on the record of the Texas State Legislature.

The Communities United for Hubert Vo and the undersigned will NOT allow this election to be stolen from the rightful elected State Representative, Hubert Vo.
