Ways to enhance safety at intersection.

We, the undersigned, hereby express our support for the study and possible implementation of the following speed suppression techniques to improve the safety and efficiency of the intersection located at Lawrence and Macarthur in Springfield Illinois:

Signs stating speed radar enforced
A pedestrian activated stoplight on Amos, Feldkamp, or Park
Police officers enforcing current traffic laws
Arrow lights for eastbound and southbound left turns
Light timing adjustment to allow more time between changes in light.
Light timing adjustment to allow each direction exclusive movement.

Petitioners oppose any costly modifications to the intersection at Macarthur and Lawrence that may result in more speeding, more congestion and higher speed accidents.
