Health is a Human Right!

To:  United Nations (UN) and World Health Organization (WHO)

Hundreds of innocent people, mostly youth, are captured and imprisoned in overcrowded and unhealthy environments in Iran for participating in peaceful marches, and simply for demanding human rights: Freedom & Democracy!!!

According to well-documented reports, these youth, boys and girls equally, are physically, emotionally, and mentally abused, tortured, injured, raped, and even brutally killed!! They have nowhere to go, and have no access to any medical treatment! This is especially true and more devastating for those victims of rape due to fear and shame, especially because of their strong cultural and religious beliefs!!

Although there are many concerned and responsible health professionals in Iran who have tried to help the injured (and are still more than happy to help), they are barred from interfering by authorities.

Therefore, we the undersigned, who are Health Professionals, Academics, Believers of Human Rights, Iranians and Non-Iranians around the world, have been trained to help and heal human beings from suffering, and see the immediate need to urge you to send an "Independent Medical Team" to observe, investigate, evaluate, monitor, and facilitate the treatment of the injured, and to restore their physical and emotional health!

Tolerating such injustice and brutality will stamp shame on the face of civilization and humanity!!
