Be True to the Impala SS in 2004

To:  Chevrolet/General Motors

Recently, news has arrived that the Impala SS will be coming back on the Chevrolet line up in 2004. Though, this sounds exciting, it is also a big let down.

The name “Impala SS” has always signified elegance and power. It is very disappointing to see that the Impala SS will be a front wheel drive V6 vehicle. Besides hardly fitting the SS tag, it certainly does not deserve the Impala SS nameplate. It would be a shame to add such a weak automobile to a line with great history.

Please, make this new Impala SS a powerful V8, rear wheel drive machine. Look at GM Middle East’s Lumina SS and Caprice SS, as well Holden’s Commodore SS and Monaro for inspiration. These cars earn their keep – 5.7L V8 engines, with over 300 horsepower, and of course rear wheel drive.

Don’t sell yourself short. A V8, rear wheel drive Impala SS will find itself in many more Impala lover’s homes than a dinky V6, front wheel drive ‘SS’. Make an impact again with the Impala SS. Keep the tradition alive with the 2004 Impala SS – power, style, and elegance.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
