No Incinerator in Southbridge - Rescind Casella’s Contract

PETITION OF SOUTHBRIDGE RESIDENTS

We, the undersigned, as residents of the Town of Southbridge, hereby request that the Southbridge Town Council:

* Rescind the "Extension of Agreement for the Operation of the Barefoot Road Sanitary Landfill, and Refuse and Recyclables Collection, Southbridge, Massachusetts" dated May 29, 2007 (the "Extension Contract") and any amendments, or side letters made since that time pertaining to that Extension Contract with Southbridge Recycling and Disposal Park, Inc. or any affiliate of Casella Waste Systems; and

* Protect the public health and safety of the community by contracting to only dispose of Southbridge's waste in the Southbridge Landfill; and

* Not allow any incinerator, including a gasification facility, to be developed or located in the Town of Southbridge.
