National Geographic / Persian Gulf

A few years ago the National Geographic magazine erroneously referred to the Persian Gulf as the Arabian Gulf in their publication; since then millions of Iranians around the world have voiced their concern regarding this inaccuracy.

In the August 2008 issue of the National Geographic magazine, which contains and in-depth article about Iran and its history, the author of the article along with the publication have reverted back to using the name "Persian Gulf" instead of the controversial "Arabian Gulf".

We want to hereby thank and commend National Geographic for not only the article, but making this very important correction.
